One missing person. Two tangled lives.

Natalie thought she had it all: a loving husband, a cozy home, and a thriving career as a freelance editor. But when her biggest client vanishes without a trace, her carefully constructed world begins to unravel. Left with mounting debt and shattered confidence, Natalie clings to David, her charming and supportive husband, for strength.

As Natalie searches for new work, a mysterious email arrives from a woman claiming to be the missing client's wife, Amanda. Driven by a need for answers, Natalie agrees to meet, only to find herself drawn into a web of secrets and unsettling revelations. Amanda believes her husband's disappearance is more sinister than a simple case of wanderlust, and the deeper Natalie digs, the more she questions everything she thought she knew.

Are some secrets better left buried?

The Client is a gripping suspense novel that explores the dark side of love, the fragility of trust, and the devastating consequences of a life built on lies.

Not another psychological thriller!

The Client by Kat Goss will be quite a discovery for all psychological thriller lovers. The author’s way of building the tension up to THE FIRST BIG TWIST might feel a bit slow, but the TWIST will make the wait worth it. Amid Natalie and David’s relationship, I might’ve gotten suspicious about how the story was going to unfold. And yet, I was pleasantly surprised that the author twisted my suspicions in such an unpredictable way.

One more thing that I loved about this book was the ending, which by the way gave this review its title. I’m genuinely satisfied that for once the female lead breaks the status quo with her final decision. Without giving away too much, I’ll just say that, as ambiguous as it may seem at first, that’s how this story would probably end in real life! I think it’s fair to name the ending THE SECOND BIG TWIST of the story!

Alan's Fate

This is an engaging mystery with the intriguing disappearance of one of the most significant characters. Natalie, a freelance editor, loses contact with Alan, her most important client, one she has never met in person, with no explanation. She has recently married David, a film editor. The novel begins slowly with details of their domestic life, the arguments and the financial difficulties they face. After some time Alan’s wife, who has hired a private detective to investigate Alan’s disappearance, gets in touch with Natalie to see if she has any idea what has happened to him. Subsequent events lead to a shocking discovery of Alan’s fate, and an ending twist to the story that finds Natalie in a difficult quandary. I didn’t guess the explanation and final events of the story. It was a satisfying and believable ending. I recommend the book to mystery lovers who want to be challenged. Very enjoyable!

Twisty, Tense, and Totally Addictive

This book had me hooked from the first chapter. The premise feels so real—losing a key client, scrambling for work, and suddenly being pulled into something much darker. The tension builds slowly but relentlessly, and just when things seem to settle, another layer unravels. Natalie’s world spirals in a way that’s both believable and terrifying. What makes it so compelling is how close it all feels to everyday life—until it isn’t. It’s not just a mystery; it’s a sharp look at how fragile things can be when work, trust, and survival collide. Couldn’t put it down.

Kept me guessing!

I love a good psychological thriller, and this one was pretty gripping. Natalie's life seems perfect, but then her biggest client disappears, and everything starts to unravel. Her husband seems supportive, but then this mysterious woman shows up. It's full of secrets and unsettling stuff, and I was constantly trying to figure out what was really going on. It definitely makes you think about how fragile trust can be. If you like thrillers with lots of twists and lies, this is a good one."
